Garden Suburb Junior School

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL

The school is situated in Hampstead Garden Suburb, at the southern end of the London Borough of Barnet. We are a three form entry co-educational community junior school for children between the ages of 7-11 years.

The school was originally opened in 1912. Part of the building was rebuilt in 1960 to replace damage caused during 1939-45 War. There is an infant school on the same site and there are strong links between the two schools

Our school motto is

‘PER ARDUA AD ASTRA’

which literally means ‘Reach for the Stars’ however
we also interpret this to mean

‘WORK HARD TO SUCCEED’.

Our vision is to cultivate excellence and enjoyment in learning and teaching, within a stimulating and caring environment, where the achievements of all are celebrated.
