Year 3 visit Chiltern Open Air Museum

On Friday, Year 3 travelled to the Chiltern Open Air Museum where the children got to experience Stone age life.

First, the children made their own tools, using sticks, raffia, charcoal and slate and discussed how the tools would be used. They impressed the workshop leaders with their expert knowledge! After that, the children got to forage in the forest for parsnips, make their own little fire, hunt wild deer and boar, build a den using animal hides and finally create their own Stone Age drawings with charcoal.

The children had a great time. Thank you to our parent volunteers for facilitating the trip!
