Year 4 enjoyed an excellent trip to the site of the ancient Roman city of Verulamium. The children took part in an artefacts workshop where they examined ancient Roman household items. They explored the museum gallery and studied farm tools, pottery, coins and stunning mosaics. They also visited a Roman hypocaust, an underfloor-heating system that dates back approximately 2 000 years. Finally, the children investigated the ruins of a Roman theatre and speculated about what might have happened there all those years ago!
